Quick Fixes That Can Save Your Special Day

Whether big or small, we've all come across obstacles while planning an event. Here are a few ways to solve those issues without breaking the bank or running out of time.

Problem: The Wedding Arch

It's your best friend's wedding day and there's still so much to do! Guests will start arriving in only a couple of hours, some members of the bridal party are still not here, and now the bride tells you they've forgotten the legs to the archway at home. Don't panic!

Solution: Locate the nearest Home Depot or Ace Hardware store and see if they sell standard plastic garden posts. Send a friend or family member to get four posts. Using different decorative materials, you can hide the legs and nobody will know the difference!

Problem: Candle Holders

Only one hour until your guests of honor arrive for their 50th anniversary party. You have a special dinner planned for everyone and as your are setting the table, you notice you haven't got enough candle holders. What to do?

Solution: Get to diggin'...in your recycling bin! Find as many plastic bottles as possible. Most any size will work! You can cut the tops and bottoms off of the bottles and use them as bases for your candle stick or tea light. Simply paint them or you can add more elaborate detail. Whatever you want!

Problem: Have Extra Supplies?

It's the day of your daughter's graduation party and you've been at the venue all morning setting up and decorating for this joyous event. You seem to have some extra supplies and really want to find a way to incorporate them into the party. It just so happens you don't have a drink menu for the guests to order from at the bar, but you have all these decorative chalk boards you thought you'd use for another project. Instead of returning the chalk boards, here's a creative way to get some use out of them!
