Mirrors are a major trend we've seen popping up around Pinterest, blogs, and events everywhere. We've seen the usage of mirrors from all of the best planners, including (bot not limited to) the Colin Cowies' and Mindy Weiss' of the world. Mirror tables and runners are great alternatives to a tablecloth or cloth runners, and with good reason! Not only do mirrors make a table look and feel glamorous, they reflect light (candles, chandeliers, etc.) and can add a beautiful illuminating effect to any event.
Salar De Uyuni in Bolivia is the largest salt flat in the world; it is also often referred to as the largest mirror on the planet! Hundreds of thousands of years ago, Salar de Uyuni was covered in prehistoric lakes that eventually evaporated. During the rainy season, the salt flat becomes covered by just a few inches of water, effectively turning it into a near-limitless mirror that reflects the sun, clouds, tourists, and the large number of pink flamingos indigenous to the region. Having seen these breathtaking pictures of the Salar De Uyini, combined with the recent trend towards mirrors in event planning, we couldn’t help but imagine this as the perfect place to get hitched. Let us know if we can plan your wedding at the largest natural mirror in the world - our bags are already packed :) We would love to hear your thoughts…can you imagine saying "I Do" at Salar De Uyuni??
